Among the significant events of the area, we recommend the antiquarian market of Orbetello, which takes place in the first weekend of every month, and the Environment festival of Rispescia – an appointment dedicated to the nature, gastronomy and entertainment in the first weeks of August.
On 1st of May in the playground of sport of Alberese a very particular manifestation takes place: "Merca del Bestiame" (the livestock trading manifestation) or the cattle branding and his taming by the cowherds of the Maremma on their horses.
Another appointment not to be missed is 15th of September, the feast of Saint Mamiliano in the Giglio island – a celebration between the holy and the secular life of the Patron of the island.
For what concerns sport and open air activities, we recommend to the numerous golf fens the golf fields of the region: except the famous Punta Ala Golf Club, situated on the coast up north of Grosseto, the zone offers two golf fields particularly spectacular where to practice this sport: the Monte Argentario Golf Club (18 pits, for more information visit www.federgolf.it), situated in the beginning of Feniglia and the Maremma Golf Circle (www.maremmagolfclub.it). For equestrian activities, we recommend the closest manege (riding school) of the Torribasse farmhouse: www.equiturismo.it. For the surf lovers there are two surf centers in Talamone: www.kitesurf-university.com & www.wmania.com.
