Capalbio
This charming medieval village, the southernmost gem of the Tuscan Maremma, is perched on a hill overlooking the sea, dominating the entire landscape with its imposing presence. Surrounded by massive walls, the village is one of the most significant destinations in the region.
Highlights of Capalbio:
-
Capalbio Cinema Festival: If you visit between late June and early July, don’t miss this renowned film festival, featuring screenings in the town’s beautiful, intimate square.
-
The Tarot Garden (Il Giardino dei Tarocchi): Just outside the village, we highly recommend visiting this marvelous art park. Created by French artist Niki de Saint Phalle, the garden is a tribute to the Bomarzo Park in nearby Lazio. It features twenty-two monumental sculptures representing the Tarot cards, covered in vibrant mosaics and mirrors.
